WYNDER-3.5MM `HO`

The station area on Wynder

This was shown at the Greenock Model Railway show early November and at Falkirk show later the same month. It has now been re-assembled in the clubroom and will be operating every club night with a full compliment of trains until after our open evening on April 5 (see our home page for detail). After that it will remain in operation but with fewer trains on the layout. The other trains are required back on the member's home layout from which they were ‘borrowed'.

The concept of this layout is that of a small American town with a railway passing through its 'High Street' serving a number of industrial concerns. The Town is also served by a smaller branch line which exchanges freight cars with the larger Railroad.

At exhibitions two operators run an intensive service on the single track mainline, using the passing loop, while two operators 'switch' freightcars between the various industrial concerns, ehich also requires to use the station loop.

Although a layout is nerver really finished, there is little more to be done to Wynder and we are now ready to start on our next club layout. The layout has featured in the March 1999 issue of Continental Modeller.
