Kirkdunnie was the club's first venture into the realms
of 'O' gauge. The layout itself is a branch terminus, typifying the operations
of the late 1950's and early 60's. However, using our members stock any
period from the 1930's to the present day can be portrayed.
The layout was featued in British Railway Modelling 'October 1993, and
the Signal Box construction was featued in Model Railways 'February 1990'.
All the buildings are scratch built to a very high standard. The layout
boasts fine scenery and plenty of operational scope as well as an impressive
train-turntable/fiddle-yard, which enables quite intensive running sessions
to be maintained at exhibitions. Our latest additions have been working
signals, and completion of various minor scenic improvements.
The layout is almost permanently erected in our clubroom, and is therefore
frequently operated by both the 'O' Gauge enthusiasts and those who have
still to be converted.
